About OUSL

The Oxford University Society of Luxembourg (OUSL) was launched in late 2003 and subsequently incorporated and registered as an a.s.b.l. in early 2004. Please contact the Chairman for further information about OUSL.

The OUSL objectives are:

  1. to facilitate contacts between members of Oxford University, especially those of different nationalities, resident in or near the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg;
  2. to stimulate reflection and debate on subjects of interest to members of Oxford University resident in or near the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg;
  3. to promote the interests of Oxford University in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg;
  4. To promote and support charitable activities undertaken by members of Oxford University in Luxembourg and elsewhere.

The OUSL is open to anyone who has studied at Oxford University. For details on how to become a member, please contact the Membership Secretary.

Oxford joint second in Times Higher Education world rankings

Oxford has been ranked joint second in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2012-13 - up from fourth place last year. Caltech comes first; Oxford and Stanford are second; Harvard is fourth, and MIT comes fifth. Cambridge is placed at seventh, down from sixth last year. Oxford achieved a score of 93.7% overall, as well as 98.1% for research and 89.7% for teaching. Oxford was also ranked first in the world for medicine.
